The Knights of Columbus Council 5357, Sanford had an excellent return on its latest quarterly “Food for Families” food drive to benefit the All Souls Saint Vincent de Paul food pantry.
This drive was held over two weekends in January 2020. (January 18th thru 26th). Over 500 Bags were handed out by both members of the Knights of Columbus Council and Saint Vincent de Paul society to every willing parishioner after every mass January 18th and 19th.
The bags all had labels applied on them by members of KofC during 4th degree business meeting in January. The labels were provided by SVdP with suggested food items needed to fill the food pantry. The bags were returned by parishioners to the All Souls parking lots and loaded onto KofC member vehicles for delivery to the food pantry on January 25th and 26th.
This last drive netted over #202 bags filled with #1600 items valued at $4000 with a few more coming back in the next couple of weeks.
The food pantry provides much needed food and basic essentials to the needy of the city of Sanford area.
Thanks to all the Knights that helped make this a success
