20170509_182539Welcome to this virtual tour of our place. We use the property owned and operated by the Columbus Club of Sanford Inc., located near the intersection of E 25th St and S Oak Ave in Sanford, FL. The property is also used by the Conference of Catholic Women, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and others.

Our buildings were acquired by our predecessors in the 1960’s. The meeting and social hall on Oak Avenue seats 120 comfortably. Our meeting room doubles as a banquet hall and dance club. We play cards, darts, pool, and (hopefully someday) shuffleboard.

20170509_182502We are working on plans to remodel to accommodate the growing numbers of men who want to join the Order of the Knights of Columbus.

The Council is named after Father Richard J. Lyons who was Pastor of All Souls Catholic Church when All Souls Catholic School was chartered. Somewhere along the line, the men of the Council commissioned this portrait of the great man, and we proudly display it in our meeting hall to this day.

The BINGO hall is on Myrtle Avenue. Here, our Council calls BINGO twice a week. Check out the BINGO page for more about the games.

20170509_182032We are frequently asked about renting the property, but the Council leases the property from the Columbus Club. At this time, the Club rents the property to members only.

So this is home. It’s where ideas are explored, plans are formed, and events are staged. A large part of our work is executed at our parishes and in the local community, but it all starts here.
