Hello Brothers,

Several of us just took a bus trip to St. Augustine for the annual March for Life, and what a blessed day it was! And I recently sent an email with information about the 9 Days for Life Novena that starts on January 21. Please consider joining thousands of Catholics worldwide in praying this Novena for respect for all life from conception to natural death.

The 3rd part of the Respect for Life Season is the annual Knights of Columbus sponsored Orlando Laps for Life. On Saturday March 7th, starting at 8AM, the Bishop Moore High School track will become a place for contemplation and reflection as men and women and children of all ages walk, jog, or run around the track accumulating laps for the benefit of the Unborn.

Each participant is asked to solicit donations towards the purchase of Ultrasound Equipment for the benefit of local Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Central Florida, including Council 5357 partner Sanford Crisis Pregnancy Center. Many of you were able to tour their mobile ultrasound clinic at the council hall a few months back. Solicited donations from previous participants of the Orlando Laps for Life helped pay for the ultrasound equipment on that mobile clinic.

Remember that every dollar donation solicited by participants is matched by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council. Just think that if we can meet the $100,000 goal for this years event, Supreme will match that and the $200,000 can purchase as many as 6 additional Ultrasound machines.

These are life saving machines. When women contemplating abortion see their child in the womb for the first time, the intense emotions of seeing life within them often changes their minds. We need to help provide this opportunity to as many undecided women as possible!

Please prayerfully consider joining your Council team to solicit donations. Each council is being asked to solicit $2,000 in donations. That’s just 20 of us getting $100 in donations, or 40 of us getting $50 in donations. Imagine if our council of 250 men all were able to each get $10 in donations, we would easily surpass our council goal of $2,000.

Brothers, I need you to do more this year. Please send this along to family and friends. We need everyone to get involved in this most worth event. Remember, you don’t have to walk, jog, or run at the event to participate. You can sign up and solicit donations and not attend the actual event if you are not able to, and most importantly your friends and family can support you or become walkers themselves.

Please follow the link below to sign up for this event. When singing up, please be sure to select our team – Fr. Richard Lyons Council 5357. Once signed up you will be given a personal web page link to send to friends, family, and coworkers, etc. to solicit donations from them on your behalf.

Please join me in this worthy venture and lets save lives together!
